Re: Looking for Atari STe 4160 badge

Looks like you just missed another on Ebay (item 300934785232) although the seller states they have another one available, probably at the same price or near. Ummm... that "seller" is you - sneaky. If you're going to scalp, at least own up to being the scalper. Although to be fair, I woul...

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

Can now pre-order the MiST @ 184.29 EUR, 156.82 GBP Lotharek's page says the pre-order price will be 10-15% cheaper than the final price. I can see it's cheaper than other FPGA but still including shipping it'd be 197.99 EUR, which I can't justify spending myself. But, if you can afford it, looks li...

Re: For Sale: Atari 1040 STF package in Toronto, Canada

Just my opinion, but I'd be more inclined to base the value of this gear on closed eBay auctions and the like rather than Best's prices, as I think you would struggle to sell at that price.

Re: 2 ST faulty questions

Before someone far more knowledgable comes along, here's my tuppence worth : 1) Check the internal fuse, it could have blown 2) Do you have another ST to check the disks on? Cleaned heads? I've no idea whether those issues could be caused by such a thing but I would at least eliminate the drive first.

Re: [EBAY] Falcon and TT for sale (not mine)

trying to work out what would qualify a +£400 tag... Rack mounted, boxed software? Speeder ? Screen Expander? Chuck in a CDRW too. and a monitor and some boxed software, and maybe some Soundpool bits... A stock Falcon 030 with a 14MB upgrade would be £400, so if you then added all the other extras ...

Re: can anyone recommend a good rom burner for the ST?

Simbo recommended this Universal Willem EPROM programmer. I had Ebay listing 290861798234 in my lists section until it sold out, but other sellers have it too I think if you look. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/NEWEST-PCB6-0-EPROM-programmer-BIOS-PIC-Designed-in-the-USA-ShipfromUSA-/00/s/Nzk0WDEyMDA=/$(KGr...

Re: ATARI ST FPGA announced

If it does turn out to be cheaper than Minimig as planned I think this would be an absolute bargain, even if it could only run ST / Amiga (though clearly the potential is there for more)

Ohh I don't mind as much, I just want to buy one now :D (Assuming they are cheaper than Minimig as hoped by Lotharek!)

STe/STFM wanted

As long as it's working, don't care about yellowing, whether the disk drive is caput.

I live in Yorkshire so can collect if somewhere in the region!

Re: Hatari on Pi?

Could someone tell me if Hatari on RISCOS / Linux is accurate in terms of smooth scrolling, etc?

I would buy a Pi solely to run it as an ST emulator but the minute I see any juddering in scrolling it kinda ruins the illusion for me.

Sometimes though a hobby just becomes a habit and you lose focus on what made you enjoy the hobby in the first place.

The problem with collecting old computers - it's never ending. There is always something else. And then one day your wife/partner asks you what the hell you do with it all!

This is what I like about the Atari forums vs Amiga. If you ask anyone in Amiga circles for a burned Kickstart EPROM they paint THIEF on your forehead and call the police!

Re: Cubase Dongle probs

Thanks for the suggestions :-) I have the dongle back and it's got an awful acrid metallic smell to it, the last time I smelt anything like it was a burnt capacitor on a power supply, so I opened it up and can't see any obvious signs of damage. Inside, there's no capacitor, just a resistor. (Do resi...

Cubase Dongle probs

Hi there, I recently sold a fully working Cubase dongle & disks. Buyer received them no problem and says was happy with them but now says it doesn't work and the ST doesn't accept the dongle. Bit deflated really as I'd tested it for hours and hours with no problems reported, and I packed it very...

Cheapest/easiest way to get ASCI cable for ST?

Hi there, I've just been given an ST with hard disk, the ST works great (hooray!) but I don't have an ASCI cable to test the HD. I can see they sell for #10 on ebay but I was hoping to knock one up for even cheaper than this just in case it doesn't work 8) P.S. if it does work, what's the largest di...
