Getting started with Gotek in STFM

Hi, I just bought a Gotek off ebay and I'm a bit stuck on what I need to do. 1. I've set the jumper S0 on the jumper switches that are visible, i.e not taken the Gotek apart. 2. The FDD cable is not going to be long enough so I'm looking to buy an extension, do I need one that has a twist or just a ...

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal

Look at that, looks familiar.Got the box and whole lot way back.(big video style box for the thing) Was sort of wondering if you meant the Macro assembler or not. Can check for the disks how they are(have back ups aswell) and pop them up if they are ok. However will take a while since my machine is ...

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal

Hi Thanks for the links, the first one is really interesting but alas no software. I'm sure I read somewhere that MetaComCo was still on the go but I cannot find any trace. Sorry for the late reply but I never get notifications from this site, even if I select the notification when posting. Cheers

Hello,
I bought the manuals and license cards for Metacomco Assembler and Pascal off ebay just recently but don't the software.

Anyone know where I can get the disks? Metacombo seems to have gone long ago.

Insert (second) blank disk into B drive?

Hello, In the "Disk Manager" screen in Steem I would like to insert a blank disk into A & B, however onlt one blank disk seems to be available. The drop-down next to A has the option for "Blank Disk" but B does not. I'm actually wanting to create some more blank (.st) disks b...

Re: Hisoft Basic 2

kth there are better basics to use , why do you choose hisoft basic? What would you say was better? I had GFA and HB2 and really preferred the development environment used by HB2, also the GEM toolbox was a great help in getting started. I could never see why people raved about GFA if I'm honest.

Home Accounts 2

Hello, Ok, apologies if it's bad form to request software but I'm not sure where to ask. I have an original copy of HA2 that I bought a long time ago, the floppy is readable but the .prg seems to have become corrupted (fair enough after 25 or so years). I've tried the disk on an stfm, ste and in ste...

Anyone know if the Dell u2410f works with ST?

Re: Dual monitor setup?

Thanks for the info. Do you know if medium resolution will work on the 2412 monitor? I'm thinking I could live with that over mono as the picture is still pretty good. Yes, seems like it's able sync to 15kHz horizontal and 50Hz vertical, so low and medium resolutions should be OK. Give it a go. Ada...

Re: Dual monitor setup?

That's just a general message when the monitor can't sync. The U2412 isn't known to accept a wide range of frquencies. The U2410 is the one you want. You can't change the refresh rate of the mono signal. It's fixed. So unless your monitor supports it there's not much you can do. Thanks for the info...

Re: Dual monitor setup?

You need one of these: https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/last/storenew/#0107 It will let you connect your STE to any VGA monitor using a standard VGA cable. Depending on the frequencies supported by your monitor it will show ST-Low, ST-Medium and/or ST-High. A regular VGA switch box would work fine...

Re: USB Mice?

Thanks for all the responses, some useful info there.

I bought a PeST for now but will look into USB options later on.

Anyone had any luck pushing through a KVM (mouse )

My STE just arrived, complete with ultrasatan drive, so that's this evening sorted.

Cheers
