Re: FireBee in NYC

You can save document in RTF format or an old MS Word format which is supported by Word and Papyrus. Encoding shhuld be ok I guess. For Printing the documents on the PC I was using Papyrus View.

Re: FireBee in NYC

And highwire too, but reading is a whole different thing to writing. I see. There are some workarrounds to exchange the documents. In some cases you dont even have a software to work on the Atari. But still you in some cases Atari can be usefull. Papyrus for PC exsists and documents made on Atari c...

Re: FireBee in NYC

This is nice! I just recomend to use Atari keyboard instead of USB one. I know now you have it :) I hope you will find it useful for any kind of job you need to do. Papyrus is really nice software for the office job :) It's unfortunate, but there is no way I would be able to incorporate Atari on an...

Re: Netsurf

How about a paid bounty on this? People who want an updated Netsurf can donate to the fund. Then however it is setup that every release or monthly the programmer gets XX Euros/Dollars etc for their effort. Honestly most likely will not be a lot but shows some appreciation for his/her efforts. May p...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

If I had to choose between the Vampire and Firebee I would choose the Vampire. It's a simpler and more flexible design without the limitations of the Firebee. I agree. But that doesnt mean the next serie of the FireBee should stay in such form as it is. Maybe Fredi would made simpler version of the...

I think it would be better to sponsor Atari machine to Atari developer if he would agree to maintain NetSurf and maybe port/optimize any other software for the Atari comunity. I would contribute too.

Re: Netsurf

I just wanted to post almost the same message. This is the answer of the NetSurf core team about CI builds: "At this time, the toolchain doesn't build properly, and nobody has stepped up to offer a clean way to sort it out. The core team don't have Atari systems nor any way to ensure correctnes...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

I agree almost 100% to mikro and joska opinion about the FireBee and Apollo project. how many FPGa developers have Firebee? As it is an open project we can say almost unlimited. It is only a question how many of them are active? I know there are some developers interested into the project but what w...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

And I don't get another thing. There is a FireBee project which is 100% open project so any one can change/add FPGA firmware or software, change software, (add MiST to the FireBee FPGA for TS compatibility, ...) but almost nobody of the developers care about that. Excatly. I have to add that there ...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

Vampire is compatible with A500 and A1200 on hardware level. There are a lot of A1200 demos run on Vampire. Would be cool to have the same compatibility level with ST/TT/Falcon Who is "we"? people who would like to use Atari application and also which likes Atari Demoscene. I really dont ...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

the Vampire V4 stand alone card is basically aimed to replace Falcon + CT60, and be faster. it's even faster than a firebee http://kronos.lutece.net/V4/V4_comparison.pdf I dont see Vampire V4 stand alone as Falcon replacement as it will be without DSP and some other peripheral. It will be yet anoth...

Re: PLATOTERM - solving the screen redraw problem, need input.

vido, on TT/Falcon probably yes, on ST I'm not sure I am using only clones (Milan, FireBee) and on that computers are usable mostly only GEM software. On "powerful" Ataris are mostly users using "productive" software while on ST computers with less that 4MB of RAM are by my opin...

Re: https for atari-forum.com

I don’t get why this discussion is often about having HTTP _or_ HTTPS. Actually, you can have both. There’s no technical requirement to forward HTTP requests to HTTPs. A site can offer both protocols, and the user can decide which to use. It’s only that many sites do the redirect, to protect the us...

Re: https for atari-forum.com

This is similar to the native vs. cross compiler development debate. Sure, some like the spirit of working on the actual machine but some prefer the speed and modern tools. It would be wrong if people from the first group would be forcing everyone to use PureC and Devpac just because they enjoy the...

Re: https for atari-forum.com

True. But I think, almost noone browses the web with an Atari these days. It simply does not work well enough. I do browse with NetSurf on my FireBee. And it dont work well enough because owners of the Atari sites dont care about that. Atari sites should keep Atari computers usable at least I wisit...

Re: https for atari-forum.com

Besides privacy/integrity/security reasons, what would the main motivation/benefit be for Atari-Forum end-users? That it would not work on most old Atari browsers (which are mostly unusable for this site) and that NetSurf will work slower. Anyway ... this forum is already unfrendly to Atari browser...
