Re: TT and Mighty Mic 32b

Before whipping out the multimeter, it’s probably worth re-flowing the solder on the simm socket(S). Cold solder joints through mechanical stress of inserting/removing Simms will be the most likely cause of failure.

New Yamaha Genos being used with Atari ST

A nice video of an ST being used to drive a recently released Yamaha workstation:

Re: "Active Topics" vs "Recent Topics"

That should be fixed now. Only 3 years late!

I've not gone through all the forums to check they are configured to use the Active Topics page, so if anyone notices other forums where it's not working, please let me know and I'll get around to it in the next 3 years ;-)

Re: how to get multiple colors on a zx spectrum 48k

as so many have done on the atari 800 and XL, getting Multiple colors, as far as possibility, could the ZX spectrum compete? I really don’t think this forum is the right place for you and there may be some confusion on your part as to what machines we are primarily interested in here. This forum is...

Re: Old Mint and old program thingy.

First, I suggest downloading CAFFIX.PRG and placing that in your Auto folder (although I can’t seem to find a direct download right now) Failing that, contact Uwe Siemet (http://hddriver.seimet.de/en/contact.html) to get a copy ofhddriver 7.93 - this is the last version of hddriver that plays nicely...

I would use a dual CF reader and dedicate the card in the secondary slot to being TOS/DOS compatible.

Re: The FPGA and non-Atari cores deserve the cover of this forum?

I can see the argument here. For those who may not know the full history, when MiST was first developed, it was purely designed with the intention of being an Atari ST implemented in FPGA. So it naturally found its home here on AF under the 'clones' section. Of course, more and more cores were devel...

Re: Trolls in the Atari-Forum.

There have been an influx of posts on the Off-topic forums lately. That is why we have them. I can’t police people’s ratio of on-topic vs off-topic forum use, but also admit I find it frustrating to see the non-Atari forum being used so heavily for random purile posts. It’s generating noise on the R...

Re: STE power supply problem / switches on and off constantly

Disconnect the PSU from the board and check the 5V line (preferably on an oscilloscope if you have one) to see if it’s constant. If OK, then it might be worth replacing the 4700uf cap on the board.

Re: 1040 STE capacitors

Replacing the 4700uf on the board is usually a good idea as it acts as a reservoir for the 5v line. That and the PSU caps plus the bridge rectifier is usually enough.

There’s a cover on the right hand side where you’ll find a pair of 9pin dsub connectors and a switch, flick the switch, power it up and see if the trackball works. ;)

Re: My 1040 STF works, but doesn't?

As mentioned above. A composite cable will not work on an ST without the modulator. As you have an STF (no 'M'), that cable will do nothing for you. That's not to say this is your only problem, of course! But you can't move forward at all until you have an RGB cable.

This forum is focussed on the 16/32bit Atari machines, so knowledge about the Amstrad CPC will be limited.

I suggest you try posting this question on a CPC-specific forum.
