Mom and Me - resurrected!

Hey guys, I believe I have rescued "Mom and Me". Read more (and download the program) here: http://breakintochat.com/blog/2017/06/14/i-rescued-mom-and-me-for-the-atari-st/ As a kid, I inherited very old (bootleg) disks of "Mom and Me" and "Murray and Me." Sometime in th...

Re: Jon Radoff talks "Space Empire Elite" and "Final Frontier"

Also, I'm curious: anyone out have old copies of Final Frontier? I'm looking specifically for original Radoff releases (ca 1988), which I have not been able to find anywhere. So far I have only found Jeff Bath's v1.54 (ca 1990), and Marc Ferrari's later sequel "Final Frontier II" (ca 1995).

Jon Radoff talks "Space Empire Elite" and "Final Frontier"

Have you guys seen the new mobile game Star Trek Timelines from Disruptor Beam? The CEO of the company is Jon Radoff, who wrote the most famous Atari ST BBS door games back in the 1980s: Space Empire Elite and Final Frontier . What a way for a career to come full-circle: From "Final Frontier&qu...

Wow. I used the webcasting feature to record some stuff a while back, but I'd love to see the REST API documented.

Re: Tapatalk disabled

Accessing the forum via web on a phone is pretty much useless compared to Tapatalk. Tapatalk is a very popular app, I'm sure it's possible to find out why it's not behaving correctly with this particular forum. I'm also a Tapatalk user. I understand the security concerns, but really hope it can som...

I have no idea if they are any good, but Amazon lists a couple PLCC extractors for around $2 - $6.

Atari harassing Jeff Minter

Over the last day or so, Jeff Minter has been tweeting about insane legal threats "Atari" has been making over TxK. He said stuff like: it's achingly sad because I *loved* Atari. Getting to work there, and creating one of their last great games, was such a joy for me. And: But I could neve...

I have not explored much with it, but I was finally able to boot the FreeMiNT SD card on my Mega STe. It does work.

Re: Anyone tried Marcello's ST Mint sd card image?

STE, TOS 2.06, 4 MB RAM -> SD 0, CE_DD 1 This was the key. My CE has always been set to: * nothing 0 * CE_DD 1 * SD 2 Changing SD from 2 to 0 caused the MiNT image to boot properly with no bombs! Interestingly, though, the N and O drives do not appear, even though CE_DD is *not* disabled. --Josh

Christmas, Atari STyle

http://breakintochat.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/christmas2.png Hi all, I was searching for stuff related to my old local computer club (ACE-St. Louis), when I came across two Christmas demos on demozoo. These were released by ACE-St. Louis's MIDI SIG in 1987 and 1989. They are basically co...

Holding control DID get me to the desktop, but only floppy drives were displayed. "install devices" did not cause the hard drive to appear.

Re: Anyone tried Marcello's ST Mint sd card image?

Disabling CE_DD didn't make a difference, unfortunately.

The Atari still hangs up with 4 bombs after it displays "ACCs/DESKTOP.INF: C" on the screen, and never reaches the desktop.

Anyone tried Marcello's ST Mint sd card image?

I have been trying to use Marcello's "ST MiNT" SD card image on my Mega STe via the CosmosEx, but I get four bombs and never reach the MultiTOS desktop.

Have any other CE owners have tried it successfully? Any suggestions what I might need to do to get it to work?

Re: Announcing ready to use freemint sd card images for the

In the meantime, released version 0.6, works quite well with Bash and TCP/IP, all working with 4MB 520 STE. http://subsole.org/st_mint I just tried this for the first time on my 4mb Mega STe with TOS 2.06, via CosmosEx, but it bombs out shortly after scanning the ACSI busses. The last line on the s...

Re: Hatari in a browser

This is pretty cool. I know Hatari offers tons of options, so I wonder if there is a way to turn those off to make it lighter-weight for the browser. I don't know if you've seen EstyJS , but it's a JS ST emulator that works fairly well in FF, Chrome, Safari, etc. It's not perfect (I've run into some...
