Re: F22.0 for Falcon 060

How fun with more Falcon demos! Even though I don't own a 060 accelerator I sure enjoyed watching the capture of this demo! Impressive work! Polished! Keep it up!

Haha! I see you've figured out why I need to re-write! :-)
It's my intention to publish the remaining parts as well, but life's just too busy at the moment so it'll take a while I'm afraid.

Re: Falcon DSP mp2 replay frequency

It's correct what calimero says. To replay a 48kHz MP2 on the Falcon030 you need an external clock on the DSP port. If you have the original sound data then you can do the following to make it play at a correct speed on a stock Falcon030 without an external clock: Upsample the sound data to 49.17kHz...

Re: efficient polygon drawing

You first have to draw the outline of the polygon using a line drawing routine, and then perform the XOR pass.

There are at least 2 versions of the TT keyboard. I have both a Mega STE and TT board and both have blue letters. The TT keyboard was purchased new.

Re: Power Supply Centuriontech or Exxos

The PSU and the hard disk are generating the most heat by far and will cause the overall temperature inside the case to increase to the level where the chips will run too hot. Remove the PSU and hard disk and you should be good to go without a fan. Today there's a good selection of extremely quiet f...

TOS 2.05 doesn't have a logo during boot if I remember correctly, just a white screen.

Re: Falcon030 Blitter emulation in Hatari

Hi Nicolas, It doesn't seem to be a x2 difference in cycles. I was on the very edge of using 100% CPU time on real hardware so not a big deal. A bit of optimizing and the problem was gone. However, I discovered a much more serious problem today when I put on the headphones for the first time since I...

Re: Falcon030 Blitter emulation in Hatari

Thanks for the reply. I'll have tun run some more tests to try and figure out what's going on. In some cases I rely on the fact that the blitter and CPU can run in paralell on the F030 as long as the instructions and data accessed after starting the blitter are precached (no bus activity by CPU). Pe...

Falcon030 Blitter emulation in Hatari

Hi, I'm working on a project at the moment where I use the Blitter in the Falcon030. The code works perfectly well on a real Falcon030 at 50fps, but in Hatari the Blitter seems to use more cycles than on the real machine. How exact are the Falcon030 blitter emulation in Hatari? I'm using the blitter...

Thanks. Have to say that I find it scary with the mains cables routed to the front of the PSU though, so close to the keyboard.

The error message is common at AF when you make a post, don't know why. The posts always seem to make it though.
Where do you buy these PSUs? Are they used or brand new?

Re: Modern multisync monitors?

120 EUR isn't that bad. Think they were around 800 EUR new and the monitor is still up to par with other 24 inch monitors on the market today. 6ms IPS screen with great colors. I found 2 for 110 EUR each here in Sweden. Bought both of them as they were just a 30 min drive away.

Re: efficient polygon drawing

1. To simplify things, draw triangles instead of polygons, it's a lot simpler. Each triangle is divided up into 2 triangles (one upper and one lower). 2. Don't use Bresenham to scan the edges, use DDA with fixed point arithmetic. 3. Sorting of y coordinates is done only once per triangle. 4. Identif...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

I completely agree that the situation is not good, especially not with a 100 more CosmosEx soon to be shipped. I can only assume that quite a few of those will be used with Falcons. I guess you can write Jookie and let him know that there are more people hitting these bugs. I got the impression that...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

Ouch. Doesn't sound good. I usually backup files from my Atari to the PC using the network connection and shared drive capabilities of the CosmosEx, but I may have to check and make sure that the files are OK. I did quite some extensive testing about 1-2 years ago but didn't have any problems copyin...
