Would it not be possible to harvest connectors from existing ST, STE, TT, Falcon motherboards? I bet there's quite some non-functional boards in people's possession.

Re: Can I connect Mega keyboard to a Falcon?

You will need some sort of switch. Falcon keyboard is still connected with its regular plug connector, except Falcon pin 4 (vcc) is routed through an on/off switch. I am thinking that by turning this to OFF will disable the keyboard, and ON will enable. In the OFF position I am hoping the RJ12 will...

Re: Interface GEM resource editor: missing mydial

I fixed the orientation of the pages (all landscape now) and ran the scanned pages through an OCR software to make the PDF fully searchable. Please use this new document and if you downloaded the first version, please delete it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uyjc2icbzvu99bp/interface_manual_2_auflage_19...

Re: Interface GEM resource editor: missing mydial

Unfortunately not. The Interface manual is in German and with 150 pages it would take quite some time to scan it. If there's enough interest I'll consider doing it. Don’t know if you are still following this thread? You are talking about a manual that is 150 pages long? I wander what you are referr...

Re: Editing a message

*Edit* (now see what I did there) Now I do understand the argument of certain pinned threads, or first post in a thread, would benefit from being editeable. But how often is there really a need for that? Often enough to motivate everyone perpetual editing rights? Or seldom enough that it's a minor ...

Re: Editing a message

IMHO the amount of posts I've made over the years, I've rarely needed to go back and edit the original. I'd rather post an additional chunk of text highlighting the error and then moving on. I don't see a problem with this change. Those that are interested in my waffle get an update and know to go ...

Re: Editing a message

Maybe someone of the admins should take a look at https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/gn36_firstpostedit/ I think that could solve at least some of the problems. Yes! That would be a perfect trade-off between unlimited editing and our wish to be able to edit the first post, but unfortunate...

Re: Editing a message

We made the change to prevent abuse. While the amount of times its happened is small, the change was made to prevent it happening again. The ideal solution is to have shadow copies / versioning of posts, so that if something questionable happens, mods/admins would be able to see what edits had been...

Re: Editing a message

Possible abuse as on atari-home.de was the main reason, the discussion is still going on on the admin team. Please be patient. Possible abuse or actual abuse? To me that's a big difference. Even if it was actual abuse, the consequences of restricting editing is in my opinion a lot worse than a few ...

Re: PSU options in 2019

If you have some spare power cable somewhere, just cut it and remove the outer PVC from it and you'll find 3 wires in it. Use one of those.
The ferrite bead you can get rid of if it's in the way, it's there to suppress noise but is not critical.

And we're already losing users to Facebook (which allows you to edit your messages at any time btw) and other social media so please change this back if the user's found it useful and made good use of it!

Was the feature to edit old messages really misused to the degree where you had to disable it? If not, please revert this change. I hate when things are changed for the worse without a good reason.

Re: Dead Falcon

Perhaps a long shot, but do you have access to an SM124 or any other Atari monochrome monitor? It could have been a combination of your original problem with the loose cable and that your NVRAM is out of battery, messing up the boot video configuration. Connecting an SM124 forces the Falcon to boot ...

Re: Have a look at my new "back panel" for my Falcon060

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty happy with the result. I have a back panel, keyboard jack, and power switch left over if anyone is interested. Just send me a PM. The power switch and keyboard jack are fairly expensive though but a snug fit is guaranteed (no glue needed). The hole for the internal/keyboa...
