Hi Exxos,

I like your set-up. Clean and tidy like a real hardware Jedi would want to have it. What about uploading the code to gitlab or github? Then we Atarians could join forces and work on it together?

Re: FOR SALE - Atari Falcon 030 UK - SOLD

Is €750 too much to spend for that unit? It includes Cubase as well as the digital and analog interface hardware, the video blow up hardware for higher resolutions, the gigafile adapter, etc. I thought it was a reasonable price. According to the description: Gigafile + Blow Up + optical mouse + 14 ...

Re: gcc calling convention

Feel free to produce better performing versions. :) I sense there's plenty room for discussion. And my feeling is that it'll be automagically leading to the software developer's dilemma: shall I check for the amount of bytes to be cleared/transferred/copied in order to branch to the optimised metho...

Thanks, if you are speaking about the game dvd, then I have it. Yep, that's what I meant. working on next update for it even, maybe not much flashy news, but more for closer complete collection. :) That's great news! Now I am eagerly expecting the latest and greatest edition of the DVD. Ch...

Re: gcc calling convention

I toyed with compiled sprites for Falcon truecolor at the beginning of the week and results with AHCC were acceptable and not slower than GFABASIC (from which I'm doing the switch since 2009/10) Whoa, wait a sec! How is it possible that compiled code is as slow as interpreted code? -> You did not m...

Re: Will it fit inside?

What's your plan for the netusbee? Will you remove the cartridge port and wire it in with some flat cable or build some kind of extender or splitter? I wonder if the Netusbee could actually be hard wired so that the cartridge port is still useable? I think this would be my preferred approach. Well,...

Re: PH Easy Remote Print - GEM lpr client éèé

Thing with CUPS is that when it works, it works. When it don't, it won't. CUPS is a real pita when it comes to updates screwing up a working system. The good old times when lpd was around (and you had a Postscript printer - but who didn't|doesn't :) ) were better!

Re: PH Easy Remote Print - GEM lpr client éèé

Ato : guessed right. What I was using was CUPS-lpd. Sorry I am a newbie on Linux :( 8) I did it and got something interesting, both on my Mac and with PHERP I can connect to the printer, but still not succeed to print. On the Mac, the file is sent, but not printed, I don't know where it went. On PH...

Ooooh, there's a Sega CD version of it available. This seems to be another game that an avid programmer could port to the ST. :D

Re: Port of Dungeon Master II feasible?

For the subject: DM2 may be feasible, but it's hard work, and Atari clones (or super-enhanced Falcon) should be more suited for this demand. If Ato has 68K coding skills and wants a pure ST conversion, then I wish him "Bon Courage", if not, then it's yet another open dream. Got 680x0 codi...

Re: PH Easy Remote Print - GEM lpr client éèé

Another idea would be to use a straight lpr - from the lpd system, not the wrapper from CUPS - on your Linux box. Once that works, you know that there is something fishy on the Aranym side.

That's why I wrote "re-engineering". :) Slow code could be replaced by fast code already available (Pacman STE, DOOM Falcon, DOOM ST).

Re: PH Easy Remote Print - GEM lpr client éèé

"LPD Error ! Cannot connect to LPD service Err=20" When it cannot connect the LPD service on your Mac, I'd say make sure that the LPD service on your Mac is running. My guess: it is an issue of configuring the printing system, i.e. CUPS, or the firewall on the Mac. But I would not bet any...

Port of Dungeon Master II feasible?

Hi folks, I just stumbled over Dungeon Master II here http://dmweb.free.fr/?q=node/250 . It seems that the game got released for the Sega Mega-CD-thingy-whatever which appears to be a Motorola-68k system and now I am wondering if it would be possible to re-engineer the code and make it run on the ST...

But what for do you need more than 512MB? I suspect some compiling jobs, right? If I am not mistaken the CP/M programmers had similar thoughts when they decided to not support sub-directories until some later CP/M version. I can still hear them saying "Who will be going to use more t...

Try with latest Hatari Mercurial version. Thomas just changed it to use ftello() instead of ftell(). That won't make a difference unless compiled (on Linux) with support for 64-bit file offset types. Excerpt from the man page of ftello: On many architectures both off_t and long are 32-bit types, bu...

Re: WANTED - MC68060 CPU 006 71E41J MASK

In fact the CPU is a fraction thinner! It seems some company is grinding away the top off the CPU to remove the engraved numbers, then once gone, they are re-printing it with the latest mask numbers when its not. Just a thought but is this fraud not a case for the Freescale people to follow up with...
