Re: [A]tari [G]ame [T]ools - 2D prototyping engine for STE

This is really cool. My only issue are that the examples are too big/complete. I'd like to see smaller examples of each part of the API. I'm about to do a card game and am considering this framework but I'll have to spend time checking all the examples to see if it does everything I need. I'll dive ...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

the core still has some real issues (like the 4:3 aspect ratio problem Paradroyd mentioned, its particularly noticeable when using a typical 16x9 HDMI display) Is that really an issue? I just correct the aspect ratio using an option in the HDMI display's built in menu. Tried that, doesnt work for m...

Re: Turbochip - 7-channel YM+DMA replay

The odd thing is that my Mac shows < 20% total CPU usage when Hatari is stuttering. Still, must be something on my setup.

The stuttering does seem to settle down eventually after the first screen of playback.

Re: Turbochip - 7-channel YM+DMA replay

Another relevant fact about ST & PCE crossover is that HUDSON looked into using the M68000 for the PCE, going so far as to make some hardware and games, but eventually went with their own custom 8-bit CPU. Do you have source of that ? If it's true, it was a huge mistake imo, because the 6502 on...

Thanks, that's interesting. I'll do some reading!

BlastEm is the latest fast emulator using a 68K core that I've seen, it does not use WinUAE

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Hi Ijor,

I was wondering, is there any way for this core to influence software 68000 emulation? Not so much automatic conversion form the definition to C but some of the details that software 68000 currently lack.

Nice game! Walking animation is so fun.

It was a bit unexpected for the level to end when the last coin was only freed, not collected.

Re-release of "I Trawl The Megahertz" Prefab Sprout album, created on an Atari ST

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Trawl_the_Megahertz A title track twenty two minutes long – as long as it’s possible to get into an Atari ST midi sequencer – with no hooks, and an American female voice floating soft words across a looping backdrop of gentle ambient music. this references the limit o...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

I created the PP site whilst at University, I was still into STs and was looking for things to make websites about that did not exist online at the time. The original URL: http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~u5ms/pp/ (archive.org link) Alien found the site, it was early internet days after all, sent me an ema...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

PP menus soon? Of course this site has been up for donkey's years (20 years now?) but never did host the disks themselves as far as I'm aware. I purchased the CDs from Rich @ Little Green Desktop years ago which had them (and more) and is my source of those menus but he stopped maintaining the site...

I didn't mean that. Rather "I'm waiting to buy it, but I will buy it". Of course, I'm not going to buy one before it's useful to me.

With MiST I was never going to buy it due to lack of HDMI, regardless of available cores.

Keep up the great work!

Re: MiSTer: MiST on Terasic DE10-nano board.

This is really exciting. I never bought a MiST because of lack of HDMI. So I'm ready to buy a MiSTer when the cores I want are available.

Atari ST - strange this core seems to be missing?
MSX - still to be ported?

X68000 - hopefully in future
