Re: WIFI for all ataris over serial!

I took the shortcut and ordered this one: https://www.simulant.uk/shop/retro-vintage-computer-wifi-modem-rs232-serial-hayes-compatible From the description, this is something entirely different, though! It allows you to connect to a (single) server, such as a Telnet BBS, by using AT commands (ATDT ...

Re: New Boot "Manager" insaneBOOT

Emutos.prg itself is probably not the problem but I don't know how well this program file version cleans the rest of the memory. But If I selected Emutos, I probably don't want to end in a boot loop. Any other useful ideas to have Emutos as an boot option and using Insane Boot? I like the "no w...

Re: New Boot "Manager" insaneBOOT

If I would us this to load Emutos from harddisk (using the official emutos.prg) , how will the boot manager behave on its second call?
E.q. boot manager in AUTO, and Emutos will execute AUTO again on its initialisation.

Maybe something like .emutosquit could be added?

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.11

Very nice!

I wonder how EmuTOS does handle the system clock on a Falcon with faulty Dallas chip?
Original TOS trash the time and date when returning from an application. What dos EmuTOS do?
FreeMint keeps date and time properly in this case.

Re: PLATOTERM - solving the screen redraw problem, need input.

vido, on TT/Falcon probably yes, on ST I'm not sure I am using only clones (Milan, FireBee) and on that computers are usable mostly only GEM software. On "powerful" Ataris are mostly users using "productive" software while on ST computers with less that 4MB of RAM are by my opin...

Re: PC app for copying files to an ST floppy image

The SainT emulator brings a tool that will create an .ST image if you drop a ZIP file on it. Pretty easy to use for the novice! This helped me, thanks! [smilie=greencolorz4_pdt_17.gif] If some other ST newbie would face the issue, the program is called Dir2msa.exe. You just have to drag and drop a ...

Indeed, i only noticed your nice write-up afterwards ;) No harm done.
Very nice explanation. I wonder if it would be possible to give more Speccy titles this sort of treatment.

Nice, I will try it.

Just for the record, on the German ST Computer PD series, disk 66 iirc, there is a Maziacs for SM124 which looked great but it didn't have much sound.

Re: Support for AHCC

It's been a long time I used AHCC. I have no readily buildable example left, only some unused basic code that initializes the subsystem and uses the API calls for screen flipping, #include "cookie.h" #include "stlow.h" unsigned long mchcookie = 0; void *physbase, *logbase; typede...

Re: Whizzcat\Delta Force Protracker Replay Rout

I have the 12khz STE Wizzcat around, with adaptions for GFABASIC and AHCC.

You can probably make this work in any other language.
Check http://paradize.final-memory.org/gfabasic.shtml

*UPDATE*
I also have a gcc adaption, https://github.com/simonsunnyboy/stlibs4gcc

Which sort of target debug data is provided back to the PC calling for the remote execution? GEMDOS console writes? BIOS console writes?

Re: GFA Basic, STOS or Asm?

The OP indicated existing knowledge in BASIC dialects so larning a new dialect shouldn't b out of th question.
Pure m68k would give best results but is also has a hardcore learning curve.

Regardless of the language used, I'm curious for any new release on the ST so good luck :)

FTP would be sufficent aswell as it could be used for recursive downloading from the Atari, something the current web interface does not handle.

I heard about GFA Basic and STOS and are these powerfull enought to code a si...

Aren't there web proxies that filter modern sites down so 90s browsers will render them?
I think I saw something like this on a Youtube video lately in the contxt of browsing old sites in contemporary browsers.

Re: USB printer driver project

The rule is simple, buy something with PCL5 or PCL6 support and it should work even without a blob driver.

These should even work with older Atari applications with a Laserjet driver or something very similar.
