Re: Surviving STs

The best place to buy retro computers isn't eBay or GumTree or anywhere like. People who sell on these platforms are out for as much as they can get and think they have something worth a fortune. Instead use word of mouth. Ask friends, relatives, colleagues etc. You'd be surprised how many were stas...

If you're looking for something never heard on the ST before what about looking at the Spectrum 128, or Amstrad for YM compatible music?

Re: Bad Apple by Fenarinarsa (Atari STe demo) !!!!!

But it was listed in the demo competition!? Should have been either WILD or Animation category. When I wrote this I assumed Fenarinarsa was the artist who drew the animation and composed the music. I was not familiar with the source material. I had also assumed that it was uncompressed video/audio ...

wire pixel_clock = resolution == 2 ? CLOCK_32 : (resolution == 1 ? CLOCK_16 : CLOCK_8); This kind of mux might glitch when the resolution is changed. It also creates clock skew. You must be very careful for the transfers between the muxed and the original system clock. FPGA's really don't like this...

Unlikely you can dump these disks with a standard USB floppy disk drive. Do you not have a PC with an internal floppy disk connector on the mother board?

Ray tracing Yes. Lightwave is perhaps the only program anyone would ever want to run on MiSTer which could use more than 24MiB desktop publishing, graphics design MiSTer users are not really going to use these programs creatively on MiSTer when they can use a modern PC/MAC programs. hard drive back...

Re: SDRAM board

32MB is really not enough memory for an Amiga. I disagree. An 020 Amiga with no RTG does not really need any more. What AmigaOS program is going to use more than 32MiB? I can think of only 1 or 2. AmigaKit and such as selling 128MB and 256MB expansion boards for real Amigas. You make it sound like ...

Re: Falcon NO display after NVRam replacement

These do not have a battery attached. You have to attach one yourself. The the ones manufactured today compatible with Falcon030 are : DS12887+ / DS12887A+ / DS12C887+ / DS12C887A+ and like the ORIGINAL DS12887 they have the battery INSIDE! "The DS12887 integrates a quartz crystal and lithium ...

If I exclude WORK then the O/S I use most these days has to be Android. The phone when out and about. The tablet and the Kodi set-top-box when at home.

The days of using a laptop or a desktop for non-work related activities has passed (for me).

Re: Falcon NO display after NVRam replacement

All the Dallas IC's I got have dead battery. I did some Googling, and looking in here. I now know that they all on the Earth are probably dead. They have not made them in many years. Not true and not true. Both my ATARI Falcon's have original working DALLAS batteries. And DALLAS still make pin comp...

Re: Minimig and Hybrid emulation.

Out of interest what are the signals which would need to go between the ARM and the FPGA? A good proportion of the signals on an Amiga CPU bus slot I imagine? 24-bit address, 32-bit data, read/write/address strobes, irqs etc. perhaps 100 signals? Presumably you'd have to multiplex the signals at a h...

I was watching that thread and they really did want to help and be helped. My take on it was they didn't have as much interest in the bug as you did because they were not experiencing the same problems. They couldn't recreate it easily from the directions they had. And being on a different platform ...

Re: MIST and AMIGA core hardrive idea

If the HDF file is WinUAE compatible then you *should* (no guarantees) be able to use ADFView the Windows Shell Namespace plugin

http://www.viksoe.dk/adfview/

This will make HDF files appear as folders.

This was written for Windows XP so may not be Windows 10 compatible but might be.

If it boots then no links need changing.

I have to say I'm VERY surprised it works. The default (all links in position 1-2) is not 27C010 compatible. Which is why I've got lots of 27C1000 EPROMs

You think they might have it in a backup? I'm interested but not trawling through millions of pages to find something which may or may not exist. Especially as there was an unreleased overhead tank game which used rotating playfields called Rotator by Rainbow Arts written by reLINE http://hol.abime....
