Re: Alternative to GPL license

I thought that LGPL was the licence to use if you were considering future commercial licensing? I thought the problem with GPL was that it requires that applications which use the open source have to release some / all of the source to the overlying program? As a result companies go out of their way...

Re: SNES Core WIP

The developer is the real deal. I've followed his work for many years. He started out with an FPGA of the sound chip. I contacted him on Twitter and brought MiSTer to his attention about a year ago and offered him an FPGA setup but never sent it to him. Looks like he got one. http://pgate1.at-ninja....

You managed to get in contact with Marc Rosocha? I really liked him. He's not replied to me for several years. It was his birthday just recently. I hope he's well.

Re: Atari ST core. Seeking beta testers

Personal choice? I think that is good enough. I am sort of with Sorgelig. Someone was doing on fixes on the buggy Thalion Amiga game Ambermoon, the developer showed amazing skill, the work would have made the game far more playable and reliable, but the developer refused to share source or even bina...

Re: Falcon with SD FB HXC Rev F / 14MB RAM

From what I understand, you cannot have the boot drive readable by your PC computer. It's what everyone wants, a single SD/CF card that can be bootable on the Falcon and readable on the PC, but I never managed to get that working, and I have been told it's not achievable. I only have one drive. I p...

Re: Falcon with SD FB HXC Rev F / 14MB RAM

I have a HXC Rev F but I never considered putting it in a Falcon030, because they have an integrated 2.5" 44-pin IDE interface and almost all tools/games can be installed to HDD I got an IDE->SD card adapter and pre-installed all my games/demos/tools/OS using a PC. I would strongly suggest ditc...

Re: Snes on FPGA may get sof file release for de 10 nano mister

The author could encrypt the HDL using the Quartus key so it can still be synthesized but no-one could edit it? That is possible but it's not so easy. Altera/Intel doesn't normally provide an encryption key neither the encryption software, not even with the most expensive paid version of Quartus. &...

Re: Dead Falcon mobo and Replacement Chips

The fact that Exxos and Centurion tech both have a different product for ST to Falcon I'd say they are very similar but not identical, probably just the connector? http://centuriontech.eu/product/stpsu-f030/ Is STPSU compatible with Falcon 030? As a matter of fact, yes, it is, unless your Falcon is ...

Re: Dead Falcon mobo and Replacement Chips

If you need something shipped from the states, just ask, we do have an office over there with some ex-pats. If you need an NVRAM chip I got several free from Maxim a few years ago. They are in my loft. I'm sure I could spare one. I have an original Falcon030 110v PSU, it's yours if you want it, perh...

There are at least three FPGA based gfx cards for the Amiga. The latest to be announced is the ZZ9000 which is an "everything" card. https://shop.mntmn.com/products/zz9000-for-amiga-preorder It is using a simple PCB adapter board containing the voltage level shifters and a $99 MyiR Z-Turn ...

Re: Core contributions to MiSTer

ao486 I want to first do some measurements of how many cycles each instruction takes with core comparing to the original 80486 specs I don't think this is something worth doing. It is unlikely that the 486 HDL designer tried to match the cycle accuracy of the original 486, the wide range of 486 par...
