20 years ago - yes. But not anymore.

£40 on €Bay as low as £10 on gumtree hardly expensive!

Re: Did Atari change the ST's case colour or paint formula?

It's impossible to remove the chemicals in the plastic which cause yellowing. Retr0bright is a chemical reaction between the top layers of the ABS plastic (which are the ones affected by UV). It doesn't reverse the discolouration more it bleaches it to a lighter colour. But it is only temporary as U...

Re: Valuation - Falcon 030

If you're prepared to sell internationally on eBay then I think you'll get close to £1000. The few that have sold recently are USA models that are boxed and they seem to be worth the most probably as they didn't sell as many there. UK models seem to be next. German and French ones more common.

Re: Repro boxes print ready artwork to be released

Thank you so much. I've wanted a reproduction sleeve for a while (I missed all the threads a few years ago about them). I thought the work might be lost but this is great.

I don't suppose you ever tried to make a reproduction "discovery pack" sleeve?

Re: Wish list for2020… or beyond

Is like to see work on recreating the atari falcon DSP in HDL so it can be synthesized into projects such as FireBee and MiSTer in the future.

A fresh batch of SuperVidels. I saw several years ago Willy who remade the CT60e said he would but i don't think the design was open sourced? Fingers crossed.

Re: SDRAM vs DDR technical differences?

It's all about clock speed and latency. As DRAM evolved to give higher bandwidth the latency (time between request and returned data) got longer due to many factors. But the original systems sometimes rely on exact RAM timing. This can be mimicked using later DRAM by running it many times faster tha...

On other forums using the same underlying engine there is the concept of “off topic” forum and sub-forums which don’t appear unless you add them in your profile.

I own a MiSTer but I am really only interested in reading about Atari cores here on AF

ppera is an active coder. Report it and I'm sure he'll fix it if it is not too ingrained in the original code.

Re: Mega STE GALS U2 and U11, what do they do?

U2 - C301907-001 is one of two chips which implement the 68000 external cache interface logic. (The other is U12)

U11 - C301898-001 Is called SYSTEM CONTROL (SYSCTL) not sure exactly what it does.

Source code and JED files are available for both if you google hard enough

Re: Why is this Falcon up over $3k?

The problem is they would be $3k for about the first 100 and then drop to cost whereas the VCS (depending on config and support) could sell for 50% over cost for 50k units.

Thanks for all the hard work.

Out of curiosity what is "Horizontal border opening support - Titan II Arcade scene"?

Is that the VDP V28/V30 bit trick used in the demo "Overdrive II by Titan" ?

Re: Why is this Falcon up over $3k?

That is a mad price. And not even a particularly good condition Falcon!

I need a replacement v8 engine for my 1984 Jeep CJ7 and including shipping to the UK it's going to cost about that much.

If anyone from USA wants to swap a rebuilt AMC 360 V8 I'd swap it for a mint boxed 14MB USA Falcon 030 :)

I think this core is being developed by srg320 who developed the SNES core. You can't keep the man down.

Re: Want to Buy 1 working Mega STe Keyboard ($150)

CosmosEx (which is a floppy and ASCI hard drive emulator) has a USB keyboard & mouse option for MegaSTe. Yes they are expensive but if you add the price of an UltraSatan + Gotek + MSTe Keyboard adapter then the price isnt too bad.

The musician Nils Schneider posted here about ripping the samples years ago. I will get them for you and try and get the ones from the CD too. I think the voice was Tim "Manikin" Moss from TLB

Re: "Wings of Death" Remake

Yes it is possible. Maybe use WinUAE to rip from Amiga version using emulated Action Replay. There are higher quality versions of some of the samples on the album Give It A Try by Jochen Hippel. Or you could contact Marc Rosocha of Eclipse and see if he can provide the originals? He's been taking to...
