Re: Falcon040 mailing list

I never had one of those boards, but I love reading those messages. It's always interesting reading about Atari, even if it's from the past.

Did you also try GDOS fonts and plain bitmap fonts?
Maybe Atari Works is too old for this stuff

Re: Bank switching in Cubase 2?

I would point you to MIDI view. It's one of the programs I wrote about in my earlier post. this is the link to the TAMW page (RIP Tim!) where you'll find an article and the program.
http://tamw.atari-users.net/midiview.htm

This should give you a better view about the implementation of your keyboard

Re: Bank switching in Cubase 2?

I just had a quick read at the manual, but there is no complete MIDI SYSEX list, so Dal is right, the easiest way is to "record" the program change.

Otherwise you could read the SYSEX data with a program (I can't remember the names of the programs) and note them down for future use.

Re: Midi tunes

Stefan, you are probably right. When I wrote my tunes I just plain ignored the GM/GS standard since my synths weren't all compliant (surely my DX7II-E! wasn't, hehe) and I used whatever channel and sound bank wanted, just being sure to properly naming the track in Cubase, just in case I messed the s...

Re: Midi tunes

OK, I loaded Johnny into garageband and this is what I found there are 4 separate drum tracks (you know, bass, snare, cymbal, ...) instruments were all different according to the GM table, so I set track7 electric guitar track6 is the lead vocal track 4 and 5 upright piano track3 another guitar trac...

Re: Midi tunes

I see that not all instruments look mapped as GM/GS so I have some difficulties to listen them in a plain MIDI player. I should check them somewhere else (Cubase/Garageband...) I can't recognise those songs, though. Well, Axel_F, I do it for you, jailhouse, johnny, i know that even with the wrong dr...

Hey, exxos!
I had a looong visit to your website with my CT60/Svidel/SvethLana/Netsurf yesterday. May you tell me how did my falcon identify itself?

I did a lot of roaming in the LaST Upgrade pages.

(and sorry for the bandwidth :-) )

Re: CT60 with solders? Should i? Finally?

my 0,02 € here: I had my CT60 unsoldered for a while, and I greatly enjoyed it. Also, I could revert the whole computer to full 030 without any bus/clock/whatever speedup. Then I let myself to the speed frenzy, and I ended sending the board to Czuba to have it tweaked enough to properly work. Of cou...

Re: Why doesn't the likes of Steinberg just let us have abandonware cubase??

the story goes something like that:

After talking with the GORF author, the 3Dstooges made an arcade perfect version of Gorf for the Jaguar, but when the game was out and gained a lot of attention, Midway came out with a c&d letter forcing a stop in production and sales.

Re: Why doesn't the likes of Steinberg just let us have abandonware cubase??

Heh, I'm sure they don't care... until something happens. Do you remember the whole mess that happened when 3Dstooges released Gorf for Jaguar? Just unbelievable, but it happened. By the way, I still own (and sometimes use) a "dongled" Cubase audio Falcon, but I downloaded the free Cubase ...

Re: Why doesn't the likes of Steinberg just let us have abandonware cubase??

Well, I'm pretty sure Steinberg is still owner of Cubase. I think that like other software or intellectual property, lawyers fear that if you let a brand/name/franchise/software free, they will lose control over it. On a side note, if I remember correctly, there is the no-audio version of Cubase, Cu...

Simbo, are you saying that I should flash the PIC of my otherwise working Eiffel card?
Is there the possibility that mi PIC wasn't programmed to read the temperature when it was set-up?

adding a thermistor to Eiffel

Hi all. Time ago I bought an Eiffel board from Satantronic (IIRC). I recently bumped into a suitable thermistor and I wanted to attach it to the board. However, my board doesn't have the pins for thermistor&fan, or so it seems to me. Can anybody help? I tried to contact someone at satantronic wi...
