Re: The Falcon's confusing history

Keep in mind that ALL of the ST/STE/TT/Falcon machines had basically the same system architecture as the original 520ST that's not exactly true. ST/STE/TT share the same concept of sharing bus ram (ST-RAM) - even cycles are assigned to the CPU, and odd cycles to the Shifter. Therefore regardless of...

Re: TT030 VGA picture quality

OK, it's time to revive a very old thread again. For everyone with a TT that wants a perfect picture on a modern LCD when using the internal TT-Shifter, go buy an OSSC: https://www.videogameperfection.com/products/open-source-converter/ I've said it before, this thing gives full control over the vi...

there is workaround for that, use MMU and mark a memory area with Interrupt service code as uncacheable.

Re: Maxymizer and SPDIF on 030

Maybe I'm wrong but it could be something wrong with Matrix chip settings. That chip has some inputs (YM, ADC, SDMA, DSP) and outputs (DAC, SDMA, DSP) and you can reroute needed input signals to needed output There were an application where you could define that Matrix routing. ---EDIT--- http://www...

The inital tests with HDMI out work nicely. Now I have to create an interface that will connect the kit to megabus in order to start some real development.

I vote for IK+ but also I like International Karte.
Best would be to combine both games.

Re: The SECRET VIDEO MODE in an ST: 400 lines in COLOR (and with 72 Hz)!

what about EmuTOS 1280x400 interlace Interlace on the ST means two different framebuffers for the odd and even frames, I'm quite sure that EmuTOS' VDI isn't up to that without significant changes. yep, it would be a challenge in case of ST. But STE has virtual screen ability, and if I'm not wrong c...

Re: The SECRET VIDEO MODE in an ST: 400 lines in COLOR (and with 72 Hz)!

Unfortunately, this means that unless there is way to force the GSTMCU to always generate /BLANK or to force the Shifter to ignore it -- and I don't think there is --, this 400 lines color mode will not display anything in an STE without HW modification. :( until somebody breaks it, as it was done ...

Re: The SECRET VIDEO MODE in an ST: 400 lines in COLOR (and with 72 Hz)!

This is fantastic. I've spent a lot of hours trying to achieve something like this. How are you running GLUE in one mode (high) and Shifter in another (color)? I can indeed have Glue and Shifter in permanent disagreement about what the video mode is. The key to this is that Shifter doesn't have a a...
