Re: STEEM SSE Blitter bug

STEEM SSE doesn't update blitter source and destination address registers ($ff8a24 & $ff8a32) to point to last word accessed when finishing blit. Real ST Blitter hardware does this (I verified on my old 520STE). Very useful when doing lots of small blits in fullscreen code as one can just keep ...

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

just to be precise, I'm excited about Vampire card for Atari, but Amiga (with or without Vampire) is out of my scope of interest.
And yep, EmuTOS on a Amiga is nice. :)

Stop your childish war Atari vs Amiga. Ok? Don't look into this subforum if you don't like it. It's full of non-Atari topics and it's ok since nothing gets deleted. May be there are only couple topics are about Atari here. don't get me wrong, but my two cents is that forum is for ST/E Clones not am...

nope, the Panter was pure Atari hardware and the first Jaguar prototype was done by Sinclair (yep - ZX-81/Amstrad) team, and it seems was based on "Loki" project (also Spectrum)

yep, it could be done with IDE but we have to reckon with a loss 30~50% of CPU for disk management

Re: Weird idea for a possibly cool project. (IDE adapter with embedded wifi/NFS)

actually Falcon's SCSI is better 1) but IDE is faster 2). 1) better because it has DMA channel - therefore read/write operations can be done in the bacground, without CPU activity; 2) faster due to SCSI DMA is limited to max 1.8 ~ 2 MB/s and IDE is limited only by CPU/BUS speed Yes, DMA is nice thi...
