im trying to contact an individual known as martin russ
for years he wrote as a contributer to SOS electronic musician magazine submitting
his self developed handful of midi tools and hand written programs .

somewhere If I remember I was told pea is more effective ....(fast)
doesn't have as many registers to set as move.l

I was overwhelmed too by the amount of Atari related stuff he has generated ,,,
his name is familiar ,
I believe he has a program or two on tims Atari midi world....

im a die hard midi fan ,
ive got the sources to finish, mechanics to learn ,and projects to port
over the past week Ludwig by tom bajoras is being looked over and going to make a midi only monochrome (no multiplex or syncbox) version
in gfa basic......

I highly doubt that Steinberg would document and then release to public such propriety data , we could be the first to create such ...its possable!!! I need to learn how each font is represented in the font header ,,I thought they were all plotted on a 16*16 grid however few have their own propertie...

have u simply tried out putting midi data from a sequencer or inputing ?
maybe this diagnostic doesn't communicate properly on your machine?

what about corrosion or connectivity at port pins...no rust corrosion or bad connection within the midi port terminals?
I believe u would have checked this first anyhow.

I feel its just because u had no midi file in the machine it detected no midi.... but maybe the diagnostic program loaded and executed some midi commands ???who knows??? .....also the clock might be too fast in a mega ste to use a standard 8mhz diagnostics on ? just going impulsively from on top of ...
