Re: Steinberg smp24 firmware 1.65 rom

See thread for v1.6 firmware. Technically 1.4x is the SMP24 firmware, and 1.6x the SMPII firmware, which can be burned and inserted into an SMP24:

Re: Geneva and NeoDesk 4 Released as Freeware

Happy to have the originals of these, but thank you very much Dan and Tenox. Haven't been to this site for a while, but looking nice, clean, and minimal, unlike some which seem to take a leaf out of the Homer Simpson school of web design! Re: Upgrading serial port for higher speed / more midi stability

So you can use the firmware from the SMPII on the SMP24, or is there a special 1.6 release just for the SMP24? If you can interchange them, they must be nearly identical at the hardware level. They should be interchangeable, certainly from v1.4x (SMP24) to v1.6x (SMPII), I am not sure if many have ...

Re: Upgrading serial port for higher speed / more midi stability

Thanks, I'll have a closer look at how the drivers differ. Taking a guess, I would say the MIDI part of the SMP24 works the same way as the SMPII since that would save them having to re-engineer anything. Maybe the internal firmware is the same, just devoid of the user interface and therefore unabl...

That skipped me by, that's pretty cool too, thanks! I just spent 5 mins moving the STL around on my laptop because it looked so nice!

Re: New Internal Falcon PSU for CT60, CT60e, CT63...

My CT60e is on it's way and I too would like a good solution to an internal PSU. I second that, would be nice for a nice neat solution with no hole left as per PicoPSU, as mentioned in this design. I like the idea of this! The whole neat and tidy PSU is an after thought presently, with everybody tr...

I have never tried it with the SMP II, only back in the day with my M04 and had no issues switching between printer and M04.

Cool, never heard of the Starport, that's interesting!

Likewise, if you need any help with testing on ST with Cubase v3.1 or Notator/ Falcon with CAF or LAF for that matter, let me know:
-SMP II
-Unitor 2
-Log 3
-MIDI Xtra (16+)
-Export
-M04 (as edingacic)
-Midex (as edingacic)

To be fair that's a good point, that's what I used too, a manual switch box, as I did not trust any auto switching, if indeed that's what is being used.

Re: SMP24 and // switch

I used to do the same with the Soundpool M04 and a printer, but I dis-connected the printer long ago. There should be no reason why it does not work. I am actually thinking about sharing the parallel port again too, so obvious things to deduce the problem: 1. That both ports work on your parallel sw...

Re: Writing Cubase drivers! (new MIDI interface)

So yes indeed, you really cannot use the Log 3 with Cubase as there are no drivers, and Director re-routes MIDI to Unitor and Export only.

Re: Writing Cubase drivers! (new MIDI interface)

It could be because of the dongle, but I am sure it doesn't interfere with Cubase plugged in, providing you have a Combiner and have the Cubase dongle inserted on an official Cubase copy. Also, the Log 3 essentially 'replaced' ports B,C and D offered by Export in Notator SL, but in Logic you can use...

Re: Writing Cubase drivers! (new MIDI interface)

As far as the Log 3, it cannot be used with Cubase if I remember correctly without checking. Unitor 2 is fine, Export fine, but not the Log 3! I'll double check the weekend, but I am sure there are no MROS drivers for it.

Re: Dual CF adapter on Falcon does not "see" slave cf

I have a similar adapter, perhaps exactly the same. As in the picture in your eBay link, do make sure that the CF cards are inserted the opposite way to each other (i.e. both should not be face up, one should be face up, the other (slave if I recall) face down). I stupidly did this initially, and wo...

Big fan of the Bitmap Brothers and Speedball 1 and 2. Subjective, but both are really playable games, 2 edges it for me, but the original stays in the memory, simply because I played it more as it came bundled with my 'Super Pack'.

Re: Do YM Sound Modules Exist?

Hey there, what makes you think the AY-3 cannot be sequenced? I don't see any reason why it cannot. As per the very brief specs, it can be controlled via MIDI CC messages, so I don't see any reason why it cannot be sequenced using an external sequencer or DAW. I agree, how in depth it can be control...
