Re: Upgrading serial port for higher speed / more midi stability

honestly having just read this thread i think there was alot of things said here that were said with little to no surety, ie: in assumption, to say that firmware can be shared between the SMP24 + and the SMP24/II i think that would be very much false... Actually this is not quite accurate, the Stei...

Re: Atari 520 ST papercraft design (by Rocky Bergen, artist & designer).

After a recent Atari related 'disaster', I wonder if I can re-house my ST motherboard in that

That's a nice design, well done that man!

Re: Modem midi - how to set up in Cubase and Notator?

There is no new new solution by and large, so you just have to keep your eye out on the various selling websites, Amibay, eBay blah, blah. Try ST-Freakz (UK), they appear to have some stock.

Re: Zip-Drives and Atari ST

Yes indeed, as others have said, should be no problem to connect. When these things were new, I went with the Syquest alternatives, EZ135, EZFlyer and SyJet. For Falcon no issues other than driver, for ST you will need the addition of an ACSI to SCSI link such as Link, Link II, Toplink etc.... The s...

I assume the set up has not changed since it last worked?

What software are you using, did you change any setting, or all as was since you last used it?

Re: Issue with a FDI Steinberg

The other thing to me mindful which you may be aware of other than clock rate of 44.1KHz or 48KHz is bit rate. Originally FDIs were 16-bit compatible only, later versions could handle 24-bit.

Re: For sale: Cubase Score and v3 modified dongle.

No, the cartridge slots in the Unitor and Log3 are fractionally smaller. Whereby the cartridge slot is 'standard', the size isn't. The Combiner however utilises a more standard cartridge slot size.

Probably because C-Lab / Emagic wanted people using Notator, not Cubase, who knows?

Audacity allows to export RAW 8-bit signed stereo or mono samples

Re: Question(s) about MaxYMiser

DMA should be right regarding 8287Hz. However to add, the STE DMA is of course 8-bit. You are using Audacity, that doesn't support 8-bit samples. What is your sample bit rate, that is likely your issue, you probably require your samples to be 8-bit at 8287Hz. So if you are using Audacity, you will h...

Re: Trackball "Marconi" (made in UK).

Nice, this has reminded me of a family trip when I was a boy. I remember I was on the train with my mother and father as we pass the old Marconi factory going to London, my mother tries to inform me, "look, look at that factory, that is where they make macaroni". My father and I look at ea...

Thanks for the pics. I have a Link 2, but the case is not transparent. Strange because ICD ads mention the transparent case as one of the differences in comparison to the older Link I. Anybody else have seen one like that? Yes indeed, my Link 2 was purchased new way back when from System Solutions ...

Hi, ooooh there could be many things here: 1. Mouse, could be a few variants if you want USB: SmallyMouse2, JerryUSB Mouse. There are some nice SmallyMouse2 variants. 2. FMC II, yeah always handy, used original or new variants. 3. There are various VGA adaptors, I think the current best of the bunch...
