Re: EasyMint shell?

Ah, I got it. /etc/passwd had /bin/sh.ttp so I changed it to /bin/bash. Now it works.

Re: EasyMint shell?

TosWin2 console is just blank. Sorry but what do you expect to see from the console when you open it ? I supposed you set it to open on startup ? If you did and want to see something coming of it while booting, go get my Synctime tool and make Synctime start on startup, it will display you somethin...

Re: EasyMint shell?

I'm not sure but I think TosWin2 needs /etc/passwd and maybe some other files. Have you looked in the documentation? That crossed my mind. I haven't set a password yet. I'll run passwd and report back. I've read everything I can find. I can open bash.ttp and sh.ttp. Both open very nicely in TosWin2.

I gotta try this as well. I too have started to get back into STOS. I'm collecting the various add-ons where I can. Hopefully I have time.

Re: Hardware Overscan

If I get this right... There was the "original overscan", with 236 byte scanlines at 50hz and 234 at 60hz. Later the same authors produced Autoswitch with 224 byte scanlines at 50 and 60hz, which is better for GEM. Later Lacescan, by different authors, was based on the original circuit an...

Re: Hardware Overscan

Oh, you want pics! Sorry, I didn't pick that up earlier. Seeing how it works on HW is always instructive. For instance, I didn't even know that borders are always black in high res. There's also doubt on the exact positioning, not that it's so important. Is the image distorted on the edges?, etc. T...

I fixed the manual. It was too big to attach here so it's hosted on my site. Let me know if that's ok. http://www.atariancomputing.com/downloads/manuals It's perfectly OK! And thanks for taking the time to fix it! :D Btw, I did miss you were making the lacescan mod, I'm going to order one from you ...

Re: Hardware Overscan

Thx. This one could be supported, it seems it was "popular". It is activated the same way as LaceScan, but unless I missed something due to the mono detect or the clock, apparently Autoswitch overscan is less impressive than LaceScan overscan: 96 bytes/scanline in monochrome instead of 10...

Re: EPROM programmer for the Atari ST?

Hi, Sorry for response delay. I have found time for assembling & testing my PCB prototype of Junior Prommer. I have found in original schematic 2 errors: 1) On IC1 pin 1 no pull-up. 2) On IC1 pin 11, is not connected to ground but to IC1 pin 9 Now i have tested with 27128A and 27C020 in 12,5V (...

Re: Call for (not so technical) questions -- Atari's product manager 1991-96

You're a legend! Thanks for doing this. My questions: - Was the TT ever supposed to have a successor, or did the Falcon take over as the "pro" machine? - Were there any TTX units produced? (Multiple VME slots) - Are you in possession of any Atari prototypes and would you be willing to shar...
