grafx2 will open and save PI1 without needing to convert anything :)

Re: Can anyone recommend a pixel based art program that works on OS X

Photoshop is still amazing for what it's designed for, but not suited to 16 colour 320x200 files AT ALL. I guess that applies to most modern graphic programs on pc/linux/macos. There are plenty of programs to convert from/to degas format, so you either can do that, or just use an Atari program. You...

Can anyone recommend a pixel based art program that works on OS X

Just after something to edit ST graphics that isn't as painful as trying to use Photoshop, or Canvas emulated... I remember Atari ST Deluxe Paint was good, so was Hyperpaint 2, And NeoChrome Master wasn't too bad, far better than Degas, but trying to use them emulated or even on real hardware is lik...

Re: Robocop (Pete Johnson) Graphical upgrade attempt...

Apologies for a double post... Managed to get the tiles out for every level with WINE and STeemSSE with Ultimate Ripper cart image, (Hatari decided to have a poo fit on MacOS with Ultimate Ripper and the original 2 disk version...) Now got the tile graphics, and the missing sprites, but my big issue...

Re: Robocop (Pete Johnson) Graphical upgrade attempt...

I have the some of the tiles, but it is way over my head to put them back. Don't have an ultimate ripper anymore, but even if I did, the rest of it is beyond me... All I'm aiming for is to put something closer to the Data East arcade game back into it. edit: my workflow so far has been import the sp...

Robocop (Pete Johnson) Graphical upgrade attempt...

I've been messing with this for a while, and if anyone didn't know, the sprites in this game were mostly PI1 or PC1 files, so just to mess about I converted the arcade sprites to the ST, and so far it looks good. However, it's only really the main character sprite and a few enemies that I can do thi...

Were there any commercial titles made with 3D Construction kit?

I first got into 3D Construction kit thanks to an ST Format coverdisk, but never got round to buying it, although I vaguely remember there may have been at least one commercial (possibly shareware) game that utilised the engine? I know it was possible to make simple games with it, and even the demo ...

Help finding a game... (again).

Hi, there was a game I had for my STFM back in the day, all I remember is it came on 2 disks, and was very similar to Powermonger, in that you could build worlds etc. It had a very Lord of the Rings vibe to the graphics, and although it looked like Powermonger, there was a big N E S W on each corner...

Re: Artwork for album release

Hi. I decided to finally invest 100 days of learning to create chiptunes on my Falcon030 using MaxYmiser late 2018/early 2019. This resulted in a full album with 12 songs ready to release. It's going on Spotify and all other typical platforms. I also plan to do a very small cassette release as well...

Re: Probably the most confusing disk numbering ever...

Pasti images are on the way if anyone is interested. Don't imagine the data is much different than the original releases, if at all, but I like the little collections. Edit: So Parasol Stars was Rainbow Islands 2, (also officially called The story of Bubble Bobble 3), and Rainbow Islands was Bubble ...

This confused me... https://i.imgur.com/lYFEyfZ.jpg edit, got some classics: https://i.imgur.com/QBbXhHP.jpg No Parasol Stars??? Not really that addicted to fun. NZS isn't part of the Rainbow Islands/Bubble Bobble lore either as far as I know, Parasol Stars is though... NZS is a great port though, s...

Also for more complex stuff, (not just Hatari), this is great for keymapping to pretty much anything in MacOS:
https://pqrs.org/osx/karabiner/document.html It's free too.

Can't promise anything, but I have a few things up in my loft that I could check for at the weekend, a few posters, carrier bags, stickers etc, and a letter from their chairman to me from when I naively wrote in with a game idea. If I can find any of it that is.

Just tested this on Hatari for MacOS, and every game I have tried so far (only about 20 or so) has worked flawlessly, using the "ACSI version in 1 disk of more than 1GB and TOS partitions of more than 256 MB with ICD driver" with TOS 1.62 Atari STE w. 1MB ram. Excellent work, and thank you...

Wow, never would have thought back in the day it was actually that slow. Used to really enjoy playing it on my ST and thought it was almost arcade perfect, same with Double dragon, until I got home from a week at Pontins where most of my money was spent on those two games. Never got over it after th...

I heard about him passing last December through a mutual friend, Here's remembering you one year later Spaniard. You were a legend.

Fascinating. I only really got into music in a very limited way, using a MasterSound 2 cart and recording 11khz samples off a crappy Sony Boombox and using TCB tracker to make some horrific assaults on the ears, but this was still very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
