Re: Hatari key mappings

Also for more complex stuff, (not just Hatari), this is great for keymapping to pretty much anything in MacOS:
https://pqrs.org/osx/karabiner/document.html It's free too.

Re: Hatari key mappings

Sorry not a solution, but I've always struggled with key mappings with Hatari on Mac, so much so, that I now just run the Windows version with PlayonMac (Free).

Re: We Love Atari (Volume One)

News update: In case you missed the (hidden) news on my Twitter page, Volume One will be reprinted within the next 3-4 weeks. It is going to be a very limited re-print, with some set aside for "duo" orders (ie, Volume 1 and 2 together), and some available for anybody who may have missed i...

Re: WTD: Psygnosis promotional stuff

Can't promise anything, but I have a few things up in my loft that I could check for at the weekend, a few posters, carrier bags, stickers etc, and a letter from their chairman to me from when I naively wrote in with a game idea. If I can find any of it that is.

Re: Petari's HD adapted games images

Just tested this on Hatari for MacOS, and every game I have tried so far (only about 20 or so) has worked flawlessly, using the "ACSI version in 1 disk of more than 1GB and TOS partitions of more than 256 MB with ICD driver" with TOS 1.62 Atari STE w. 1MB ram. Excellent work, and thank you...

Re: Outrun with frame counter

Wow, never would have thought back in the day it was actually that slow. Used to really enjoy playing it on my ST and thought it was almost arcade perfect, same with Double dragon, until I got home from a week at Pontins where most of my money was spent on those two games. Never got over it after th...

I suggest everyone look at the dates on the first posts in this thread. Just the same, condolences to his friends and family, and the community. Always sad to lose one. I heard about him passing last December through a mutual friend, Here's remembering you one year later Spaniard. You were a legend.

Re: Great youtube video about Atari ST and Midi

Fascinating. I only really got into music in a very limited way, using a MasterSound 2 cart and recording 11khz samples off a crappy Sony Boombox and using TCB tracker to make some horrific assaults on the ears, but this was still very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Best ST joypad?

I remember a joypad I had, but I dont remember the name. It was white-ish, and fit perfectly in both hands. It was a two-part seperated pad, with one part going on one hand and the other in... the other hand. It worked a bit like todays Nintendo Switch thingys, so on left was the d-pad and on the r...

Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

Streetfighter - The arcade game wasn't exactly a classic, but the ST port is the worst example of a button mashing "fighting game" I've ever played. Street fighter? Really? Dude the first version started it all. You cant diss the OG of all fighting games ever made. Take it back :) It was ...

Re: James Pond - Millennium Interactive

Probably gonna get some flak for this, but James Pond and James Pond 2 were rubbish ports on the ST. On the Amiga they were really fun, but the ST ports STUNK! I don't think it was just low sales that stopped The Aquatic Games... it was lack of hardware scrolling for a start, but mostly it would hav...

Re: Can you solder surface mount? (new hardware)

The key to soldering surface mount ICs with fine pitch without any specialised equipment is to tack-solder the device to just two pads on opposite corners of the device and then, do something you would never deliberately do when soldering at any other time... you flood all the pins along each side ...

As a huge Robocop (Film and Coin-Op) fan, i found the Home games a very mixed bag. The Original Robocop was superb on a 128K ZX Spectrum, C64 version looked nice, but bugged, not found a console version i like. I really enjoyed the Speccy version too, although before I got my ST I played the Amstra...
