What does this work with? Sorry, but I have no idea. I have a TT, Mega 4 and a Falcon.

Re: GFA Basic, STOS or Asm?

I don't know the best choice for you (for me, ASM would be out of the question). STOS does come with a simple shooter, "ZOLTAR", and it's source code. You can also compile STOS for additional speed.

I would be interesting in running the standard version, with added frame counter, on accelerated and emulated platforms. Would be be enlightening.

Re: Firebee: the long game?

My point was, the future of the Atari platform is better rooted in emulation than it is in dedicated hardware. When someone says, basically, "if you want to be able to run old Atari software, modern hardware isn't for you", that is ludicrous. I don't think anybody is saying that. For inst...

Re: Firebee: the long game?

Obviously, this platform is not attracting many new "power users". Of course people would like to use their old favorites on a new system. But, emulation allows both legacy support and scaled performance increases. I do not see your point. It is mainly the 25 years old discussion "em...

Re: Firebee: the long game?

The problem is that the Firebee is not really powerful, modern, or all that configurable. Ultimately, it is just destined to be another dead, outdated, hardware platform...like a 1985 machine. It's mostly there, already. However, pc hardware continues to evolve...and will, for a long time. That is ...

Re: Firebee: the long game?

... When your "new-ish" hardware platform can't fully emulate a 35-year-old computer...well... There is indeed no point in building a new computer with powerful, modern configurable hardware if you just want the exact same behaviour of an ancient one. If you want just that, the Firebee is...

Re: Firebee: the long game?

Emulation is the solution. Hardware keeps getting more powerful. Software emulation allows for relatively easy fixes for bugs, and scaled performance improvement. When your "new-ish" hardware platform can't fully emulate a 35-year-old computer...well... I posted basically the same thing, b...

Warp asked in such a polite way What Warp did was not to ask politely. If he would have been just interrested, he would have sent a mail like everybody else who needs informations (and who is not already informed by other postings here, the Firebee website or other informations channels). What he d...

Have been trying to order from them....65xe, xf551, megaste....they seem to be too busy to fulfill orders. Today I asked about ordering some xf551 drives for delivery in March...and Bradley said nope, declining my order.

Is this normal??

I may have missed an announcement...

It looks like all of the pre-order goals have been met. Any idea when the actual boards will go out to customers?

I am not rushing, just curious. I did pick up a new Radeon 9250 256mb. :)

I was just going by this post: Regarding Radeon solution just wait. Dont try by yourselfif you dont know what are you doing. Can someone elaborate on the cost of a proper solution for the PCI backplane?

I am just wondering how cost-prohibitive producing such a board would be. Thanks.

Re: New FireBee series

Pre-ordered, without pre-pay. See no point in pre-paying since the 20 orders have been satisfied.

Honestly, I think though, that the pre-pay should be the gate. 30 more orders, from who know's what source, without pay, means very little, imo.
